Ex-Accie Lands Biggest Job in British Football

Following today's surprise announcement of Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement, it appears Manchester United are about to appoint Davie Moyes as their new manager. Talksport and the Daily Telegraph are among the media claiming the appointment has already been made.

Moyes made five appearances as a defender for Accies during season 1993-94.

  2. This must be the least surprising managerial appointment of the year, or perhaps even the last 5 years. There always seemed to be close links between Everton and Man Utd (Neville and Howard going one way, Rooney the other) and the very obvious Ferguson/Moyes mutual respect. I'm sure I read somewhere that Moyes didn't have a happy time at Accies, but I wish him the very best of luck in his new job - what an act to follow! Coyle to Everton?

  3. Now all we need is for Martinez to go to Everton make his first signing Mcarthy and Accies can use the sell on money to pay for the artificial pitch and keep the season ticket at £150.
